U.S. EPA Announces 2008-2010 Enforcement Priorities

On October 12, 2007, U.S. EPA’s Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance (“OECA”) announced its finalized enforcement priorities for the years 2008-2010:

  • Clean Air Act: Air toxics, by directed monitoring and enforcement of the Maximum Achievable Control Technology (“MACT”) standards.
  • Clean Air Act: Prevention of Significant Deterioration (“PSD”) and New Source Review (“NSR”).
  • Clean Water Act: Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (“CAFO”), Combined Sewer Overflows (“CSO”), Sanitary Sewer Overflows (“SSO”) and storm water.
  • Resource Conservation and Recovery Act: Mineral processing.
