Pro
Bono
Bingham McHale recognizes that we--as attorneys--have a special
duty to provide legal services to the underprivileged within the
communities where we work and live. In that connection, we believe
that such pro bono work in an important component of meeting our
professional obligations as attorneys. Both the American Bar Association
and the Indiana Rules of Professional Conduct recommend public
service without the expectation of a fee. We encourage all of our
attorneys to perform these critical services.
In addition, Indiana
is our home and we treat it that way. We work as volunteers and
leaders on committees and boards that improve our communities,
build cultural assets and advance industry initiatives. We believe
that when we help our neighbors and our community prosper we help
our clients prosper.
Bingham McHale encourages
its attorneys to incorporate pro bono work into their practice
every year. To assist and encourage all of our attorneys to undertake
meaningful pro bono service, the firm has identified several community
programs worth supporting:
- Adopt-A-Neighborhood Program (Heartland Pro Bono Council)
- Appeals Cases (U.S Circuit Court of Appeals - Seventh Circuit)
- Ask A Lawyer (Indianapolis Bar Association)
- Civil Legal Assistance Panel (Federal District Court)
- Indianapolis Housing Agency
- Juvenile Court Program
- Legal Line (Indianapolis Bar Association)
